There's a window in the evening when the Manhattan skyline lights up gold, then pink, then electric blue — and the Hudson River turns into a mirror. It's the most beautiful time to ride in Hoboken, and the waterfront path is built for it. Here are five sunset rides that capture the magic.

1. Pier A Park to 14th Street

The classic. Ride the full length of the Waterfront Walkway as the sun drops behind the New Jersey Palisades and the Manhattan skyline glows. Benches along the way invite you to stop and watch the light change.

2. Sinatra Park Sunset Spin

Short on time? A loop around Sinatra Park and the central esplanade gives you skyline views and a lively evening atmosphere in under 30 minutes.

3. The 14th Street Viaduct Vista

Ride up the viaduct for an elevated, panoramic view of the river and skyline at dusk — a perspective most riders never get.

4. Lincoln Harbor to Hoboken Terminal

Head south from Lincoln Harbor as the ferries come in and the harbor lights flicker on. It's a commuter route that doubles as a sunset cruise.

5. The Jersey City Connector

Ride south past the Hoboken border onto the Jersey City waterfront for an even longer golden-hour stretch, with the skyline stretching endlessly to your left.

Bring lights — you'll almost certainly be riding back in the dark — and a phone for photos. The sunset crowd on the waterfront is one of the friendliest in the city.
